ŠČU (SI)
LIVE PERFORMANCE (PREMIERE)

ŠČU (Ana Ščuka) practices different crafts and challenge herself in multiple media to discover the potentials of visible and invisible (sensory) forming, not only by her energetic input but collaborating with external energy like gravity, vibration, wind, water, and so on. She is currently focused on ceramics and sound.

The performance She is presenting at this year's Niansa festival is mainly site-specific sound research of handmade ceramic instruments and their sound communication and interplay with the Rakov Škocjan environment. Festival visitors will be invited to join and collaborate during the performance with ceramic sound sculptures that have been made on the pottery wheel which she understands as her source tool for dictating rhythm with touch and capturing oscillation and vibration in physical space. In this sense, she tries to evoke and think of capturing time with touch.
