Orsolya Kaincz has been working with sound and organizing contemporary music events for more than a decade. As a self-taught musician, her interest in music gradually shifted focus from instrumental free improvisation and performing conceptual compositions to electroacoustic experimentation. She works with slowly unfolding, transforming sound surfaces, alternating with fragmented micro-structures based on synthetic sound sources and field recordings. She aims to build contemplative atmospheres in order to create a focused listening environment for the listener. This approach applies to solo appearances as well as collaborations like the acoustic-electronic improvisation trio Kamon Kardamom or improvisation trio FoCC (Friends of Cornelius Cardew). Other recent projects include the experimental music show Exit at Lahmacun radio and work for music events such as the Transparent Sound New Music Festival. Member of the Shape Platform artist collective from 2022.
This performance is presented in collaboration with Kud Mreza’s FriForma concert series and curated by Nataša Serec.
Orsolya Kaincz is part of the project CULTURE MOVES EUROPE (RESIDENCY ACTION) at KUD Mreža, Ljubljana Slovenia.
