RX:TX is a label established by a group of Slovenian conceptual / sound artists, computer engineers, and architects, who work mainly in the electronic music field and launched in April 2002 at the Gwangju Biennale, Korea with the presentation of our first two editions: Signal Territory: Signal Territory I and Jadviga: Nonim. It was designed to enable access to production facilities and distribution networks for innovative artists from all over the world, but with a specific focus on the artists of the post-communist countries of Eastern Europe whose lively production of new electronic beats, grooves, clicks, cracks and info-sphere noise was as yet little known abroad. At the same time, however, rx:tx was never limiting its activities to this geo-political criteria. Instead, in an effort to overcome the still existing divisions, to expose the relativity of differences, and to cross check the field we are all working in, we will put artists from different cultural backgrounds in the same context.

Founded in 1994 Projekt Atol Institute (zavod Projekt Atol) is a non-profit art/concept production institution that manages diverse art, science and tactical media projects.





JIMMY BARKA EXPERIENCE live performance

Jimmy Barka Experience, a trio whose members Marjan Stanić (Bakalina Velika, Čompe), DJ Bakto (Jaka Batič) and DJ Borka (Borja Močnik) are all veterans of the local scene, creates vibrant dance music for all generations with elements of funk, hip hop, rock, Brazilian and Balkan music as well as other features. After numerous acclaimed recordings, this year they have finally released their debut album Jusqu’ici tout va bien, described by the Mladina magazine as a “trans-genre, Morricone-esque funk-o-rama unlike anything you’ve ever heard”.
MARKA SANlive performance

Marka San’s musical output as a DJ and producer breaks musical restraints and forms a genre-bending compound of Grime, Footwork, Dubstep, Jungle, Hip-Hop, and Electro. Founder of the renowned Dubstep imprint “DeepEnd!” and latest label creation “NO KLAN” Recordings, blurring genre boundaries in favour of musical freedom. A prolific collaborator and tastemaker through and through, Marka San also maintains two (bi-)monthly radio show residencies at Radio Noods (UK) and Radio Student (SLO), continuously showcasing his talents as a curator and selector. On top of an array of well-received releases on his imprints, notable achievements include an outing on the internationally acclaimed label Deep, Dark & Dangerous and Slovenian arts & culture hub “RX:TX”.
