BOŠTJAN PEROVŠEK,
BRANE ZORMAN,
JUAN LOPEZ:
Tremolo
live performance

TRemolo
explores the occurrence and communication levels of vibrational sound in insects within specific ecosystems. It examines the corporeality of sound in selected organisms as they interact with space.

The project brings together two artists and scientist with nature conservation institutions. It focuses on ecosystems of the "third landscape"—abandoned urban spaces where wilderness resists human intervention. Through sonic research, TRemolo raises questions about biodiversity, destructive practices of the Anthropocene, and the potential for sound-ecological coexistence.

Brane Zorman is a composer, sound and intermedia artist, and producer. He researches spatial sound, sound ecologies, and multichannel compositions, often in connection with conservation projects. He is a co-founder of the Cona institute.

Boštjan Perovšek is a composer and sound designer. He explores the creation of bioacoustic music based on animal sounds, particularly insects. He also collaborates with the groups Jata C and SAETA, and creates music for film, theater, performances, and multimedia installations, as well as soundscapes for museums and galleries.

Juan José López Díez is a biotremologist researching at the Department of Organisms and Ecosystems Research (EKOS), NIB, with a deep curiosity about vibrational communication in insects. He is passionate about using sound for knowledge creation and exchange, bridging the gap between art and science.

JATA C:
Wandromedarji
live performance

We travel through space on the spaceship Earth, traversed by strings of paths in all directions. We Wadromedars leave sound trails and slowly spiral towards unification with Andromeda.

Jata C (beepblip, OR poiesis, Boštjan Perovšek, Bojana Šaljić Podešva, Brane Zorman) is a group of artists who share common interests in acoustic ecology, field recordings, and bioacoustics. They combine auditory perception with ecological and post-humanist themes in
dialogue with scientific discourse to propose indigenous sonic environments. In their compositions, they transform recordings from their immediate environment into speculative projections of the future and sensitive perceptions of the present. They play to a score that leaves enough space for improvisation and live sonic interpretation.

KARMEN PONIKVAR:
Species of Spaces
live performance

Her performance Species of Spaces will gently stimulate the senses through sound, focusing on the fragility of sonic gestures and the richness of tiny, ephemeral sonic details. Guided by the natural rhythms, fluent bodies and intermaterial vibrational qualities, she seeks to uncover fictional ways of understanding the epoch that we live in.

Karmen Ponikvar is a sound artist and a performer born in Slovenia, currently residing in The Hague, where she is studying sound at the Institute of Sonology. Tuning her ears through various means of recording, listening methodologies, and performative practices, she aims to make sound the centerpiece of our shared lived experience. Through microtonal sonic structures, sculptures of spatial imaginaries and speculative philosophies of perception, she explores the intricate relationships between sound, space and place. Weaving field recording, amplified objects and experimental
electronics she craft performances that encourage attentive listening, promote reflections and foster care.

IRENA PIVKA:
Listening with Meadows
Soundwalk (60’)

You are invited to a sonic exploration of the meadow as an ecosystem, where plants are not just passive, green backdrops but active interlocutors. We will walk among the voices of the wind, insects, and the quiet workings of the root system, listening to the meadow as a space
of interspecies relationships and mutual influences.
With a postcolonial perspective, we will move beyond anthropocentric views and listen to plants beyond their economic and aesthetic value. How can the meadow teach us new ways of coexisting? How does the soundscape reveal invisible connections between species? This walk opens a space for listening that is not only human but multispecies and reciprocal.

Irena Pivka is an artist and producer working at the intersection of contemporary art, sound,
and space. Her work explores the relationship between humans, the environment, and technology, often using the medium of sound walks and interactive installations. Together with Brane Zorman, she leads Cona institute, where she creates projects that intertwine artistic research, ecology, and social engagement.

Institute Cona focuses on connecting art, ecology, spaces, and sound, while
encouraging collaboration between artists, scientists, and the broader public. Its
main activities include the production and promotion of intermedia and sound art
projects. With the goal of socially and ecologically responsible cultural networking, we
collaborate with renowned and established domestic and international artists and
institutions in the fields of bioacoustics, sound ecology, radio art, and sound art.
